We are a community based, volunteer landscape committee that has worked on greening projects in the North Oakland Highway 24/13 corridor since 1979. The Oakland Landscape Committee (OLC) is a local affiliate of California ReLeaf, the statewide grassroots tree-planting network and serves as the landscape committee of the North Hills Community Association. We are a non-profit organization funded by private donations as well as corporate and foundation grants.
BREAKING NEWS: Captain Planet Foundation just awarded the Oakland Landscape Committee $2,500 and the Patagonia Environmental Grants Program awarded us a $3,000 grant. We’ve raised more than $3,000 from our annual appeal.
Many thanks to our partners, Pollination Project Foundation for a $1000 grant, Regan Nursery for donating 210 roses for the Broadway Pollinator Garden and to Waste Management of Alameda County’s EarthCare program, for donating 10 yards of compost to help our gardens grow!
